This lot consists of 5 boxes of Obsolete Vintage .22 Winchester Automatic Rim Fire Ammunition, designed specifically for the Winchester Model 1903 semi automatic rifle.
There are 3 Remington boxes, 1 Peters, and 1 Western. The Western box has Peters cartridges inside. The .22 Long Rifle cartridge was popular at the time, so to alleviate concerns that black powder .22LR ammunition would be used and foul the action, the dimensions were changed just enough that the .22 Win Auto will not chamber and fire in any other firearm, nor will the other .22 Rimfire cartridges work in the Winchester 1903 Rifle. This ammunition is in Very Good condition.
