Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is one piece wood with a cheekpiece, checkered semi-pistol grip, checkered forend, and a synthetic Weatherby buttpad. The forend and semi-pistol grip are capped with rosewood. The buttpad has minimal handling wear. The furniture shows a few minor pressure dings and surface scratches. The LOP measures 13.25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Fine condition.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its original metal finish. There are some light scratches on the barrel and marks where scope bases used to be attached. The bolt handle has moderate finish loss from operation. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.

Our Assessment: The Weatherby Mark V was introduced in 1958 as Roy Weatherby's proprietary bolt-action design, engineered specifically around the high-performance Weatherby Magnum cartridges. Production moved from West Germany to Howa Machinery in Japan during the early 1970s, with Howa manufacturing Mark V rifles through 1994. Weatherby's own historical records identify the "H" serial prefix with Japanese Mark V production from 1972-1994. The Deluxe represented the traditional high-grade sporting version of the Mark V, combining polished blued steel with checkered walnut, rosewood accents, and Weatherby's distinctive stock profile. This left-handed example, serial number H150109 with matching bolt, is chambered in .300 Weatherby Magnum, one of Roy Weatherby's original high-velocity magnum hunting cartridges.
