Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece mother of pearl. The panels show light handling wear. There are several pieces that have chipped off and been filled with a resin. The grips rate in Fair condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is dark and the rifling is obscured by heavy heavy oxidation. There is heavy erosion throughout the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 3/10.

Overall Condition: This firearm retains about 65% of it's original finish. The finish shows edge wear, flaking, scattered dings, and scratches. The markings are fairly clear and complete. The screw heads show little to no tooling and retain turnable slots. Overall, this firearm rates in Fair condition.

Mechanics: The action DOES NOT functions correctly as the trigger does not automatically reset. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Henry M. Kolb First Model Baby Hammerless was manufactured between 1896 and 1910 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic firearm. Produced by Henry M. Kolb, the Baby Hammerless was a compact pocket revolver designed for discreet personal protection during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its enclosed hammer design reduced the likelihood of snagging on clothing, making it well suited for concealed carry. Revolvers produced by Henry M. Kolb remain of interest to collectors due to the company's relatively limited production and distinctive place among early American pocket handguns.

Chambered in .22 Short with a 1.25 inch barrel, this double-action revolver was intended as a lightweight and easily concealed defensive arm. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 3 out of 10, showing heavy wear with little rifling remaining. The action does not function correctly, as the trigger does not automatically reset after firing and the revolver will require repair before normal operation.

Approximately 65% of the original finish remains, showing wear consistent with its age. The grips rate in Fair condition with notable repaired chips. Overall, this firearm rates in Fair condition, though it remains an interesting example of an early Henry M. Kolb pocket revolver.
