Hand Forged Boxed Tumbling Z Branding Iron, Manuel Ponte - Gas Point, CA.

This hand forged cattle branding iron shows a 4" x 4" brand surface with 25" shaft. The brand head shows a boxed outer with tumbling Z. The metal shows scratches, scrapes, oxidation and the shaft is round. There is also some remnant red paint on the lower half of the shaft and inner facings of the brand letter and outer boxed border. A brass tag is present and shows "Manuel Ponte 1901" and "Gas Point, Cal." on the other side.
