Good Condition. A complete tear to the left side of the chinstrap, which has recently been repaired with tape. Moderate scattered tearing to the leather trim around the edge of the brim. Some scattered dark soiling around the exterior. Features the original German Heer eagle and National Tricolor shield aluminum insignias affixed to the side crowns. Confirmed as a US veteran bringback by the rank, name, and service number "Cpl. Carl E. Holtan 37547180" neatly hand marked along the underside of the brown leather sweatband. Stamped on the sweatband with its maker, "WPB", and the size, "57" (US Size 7 1/8).
