Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into a checkered base screwed into the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch pinned into a fixed base. There is a Tasco 3-9x40mm scope mounted on Weaver Pivot rings. The glass is a bit foggy and the ocular lens housing is bent. The scope will only adjust between 7 and 9 power. The scope rates in Poor condition.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is one piece wood with a cheekpiece, capped left handed thumb-hole grip, tipped forend, and a synthetic White Line buttpad. The buttpad shows light handling wear. The furniture shows pressure dings, drag lines, and surface scratches. The LOP measures 13.75" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. There are no chips or cracks. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is grey and the rifling is lightly worn. There is light pitting and mild oxidation throughout the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 5.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 80% of its nonoriginal metal finish. The finish shows scattered oxidation spots, scratches, and pitting beneath the finish. The screw heads range from unmarred to lightly tooled and retain turnable slots. Most of the markings have been wiped. Overall, this rifle rates in Fair condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Originally designed as a military rifle, Mauser actions became one of the most popular foundations for custom sporting rifles throughout the 20th century due to their exceptional strength, reliability, and controlled-round-feed design. This example has been extensively modified for sporting use, including the addition of a custom left-handed thumbhole stock while retaining its original right-handed bolt action, creating a unique field rifle with distinctive ergonomics.
Chambered in 7x57mm Mauser with a 28 inch barrel, this rifle is paired with one of the most respected sporting cartridges ever developed, renowned for its mild recoil, excellent accuracy, and effectiveness on medium and large game. Mounted to the rifle is a Tasco 3-9x40mm scope in Weaver Pivot rings. The scope rates in Poor condition, as the glass is somewhat foggy, the ocular lens housing is bent, and the magnification adjustment functions only between approximately 7x and 9x. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 5.5 out of 10, showing moderate to heavy wear with diminished rifling. The action functions correctly.
The custom left-handed thumbhole stock rates in Very Good condition with normal handling wear. This rifle retains approximately 80% of its non-original metal finish, exhibiting cosmetic wear consistent with its sporting conversion and years of use.
