Markings: The right side of the slide is marked "Colt Automatic Calibre 25." The left side of the slide is marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT U.S.A." followed by patent dates "PAT'D AUG. 25. 1896 APR. 20. 1897 DEC. 22. 1903 JAN. 25. 1910." The left side of the frame has the serial number "233114", found again on the inside of the slide. The trigger guard features a gold monogram of "JRT."

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a small rounded blade, and the rear sight is a notch integral to the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The pistol is fitted with smooth ivory grips. The grips remain solid with natural age lines but no cracks or structural damage. Overall, the grips are in Fine condition as not original to the gun.

Type of Finish: Deep Blued with Heavy Scroll Engraving & Gold Wash Trim

Finish Originality: Original to time of engraving.

Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright with worn rifling and some fouling in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 6.5/10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains over 95% of its blued finish, with only 25% of the gold wash trim. The scrollwork is intricate and masterfully executed, enhancing the pistol’s aesthetic appeal. There are minor handling marks but no significant wear beyond expected aging. Overall, this pistol is in Fine condition as custom-engraved.
