Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade pinned to a slotted base fixed to the front of the barrel, adjustable for elevation. The rear sight is a u-notch dovetailed and screw-set to the rear of the slide, adjustable for windage.
Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece checkered wood panels. The backstrap is checkered. The grips show most of the wear on the right panel. A couple parts of the checkering on the right panel are worn smooth. There is very light verdigris around the mounting hardware There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is fairly sharp with stubborn fouling. There is light pitting scattered infrequently throughout the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 7.5/10.
Overall Condition: This firearm retains about 65% of its original metal finish. The finish shows edge wear, rub marks, scratches, small dings, and spots of light oxidation. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm rates in Good to Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Colt Woodsman Target Model 1st Series was manufactured in 1928 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic firearm. Designed by John M. Browning and introduced by Colt in 1915, the Woodsman quickly became one of the premier American .22 caliber target pistols. The First Series remained in production until 1947 and earned an outstanding reputation for its precision, excellent trigger, and refined workmanship, making it a favorite among competitive shooters, sportsmen, and collectors alike.
