Bore Condition: The bore is bright, and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion or fouling. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains 99%+ of its original metal finish. There are no signs of handling wear, and it appears to be in New condition. The screw heads are sharp, and the markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Like New condition.

Mechanics: The action functions perfectly. The lock-up is tight, the cylinder rotation is smooth, and the trigger pull is crisp in both single and double action. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Colt Cobra was one of Colt’s most successful lightweight revolvers, introduced in 1950 as an upgraded, alloy-framed variant of the Colt Detective Special. The first-generation Cobra, like this 1974 example, was chambered in .38 Special and was a preferred choice for law enforcement, concealed carry, and personal defense due to its lightweight design and reliable action.

This particular nickel-finished Cobra is in Like New condition and comes with its original factory box, making it an outstanding collector’s piece. The nickel finish gives it a striking appearance while also offering excellent durability.
