Sights/Optics: The front sight is a serrated, ramped blade with an orange plastic insert secured to the ventilated rib with an in-line screw. The rear sight is a square notch adjustable for windage and elevation in a base pinned to the topstrap. The topstrap is drilled, tapped and filled for an optic mount (none present).

Stock Configuration and Condition: The grip is one-piece Colt-branded black pebbled texture rubber. There is no significant wear or damage and the pebbling is strong. There are no rips or tears. The grip is in Excellent overall condition.

Type of Finish: Stainless

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There is some grease from the factory packaging. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This revolver comes in a blue plastic Colt case with matching label and paperwork including manual and a safety lock.

Our Assessment: Colt introduced the Anaconda in 1990, built on a new, heavy “AA” frame to compete with the Ruger Redhawk and S&W Model 29 revolvers. Joining their "Serpent" line, the Anaconda was only ever offered in stainless steel and offered in either .44 Magnum or .45 Colt chamberings. Like many of Colt's products, it was discontinued and then brought back in 2021 along with the reintroduction of the Python, Cobra and King Cobra. The example is in wonderful shape, appearing to have spent more time in its original box than out. Some might say this is a little overkill for home defense, but that's better than underkill. It would also make a good hunting revolver or addition to a Colt revolver collection. Please see our pictures and good luck!
