Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a one piece smooth walnut. There are no chips or cracks. Overall this grip is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer's opinion this bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its original finish. There is little to no handling wear. There is a little tarnish on the brass front sight. The color case is vivid. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall this revolver is in Excellent - Like new condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used guns a full cleaning may be required to meet your standards.

Our Assessment: This Colt 3rd Generation Model 1860 Army Signature Series U.S. Cavalry Commemorative is a beautifully preserved modern Colt percussion revolver honoring one of the most iconic sidearms of the American Civil War era. The original Colt 1860 Army was widely used by cavalry forces and remains one of Colt’s most recognizable cap-and-ball revolver designs, with its 8" barrel, .44 caliber chambering, percussion ignition system, and graceful Army-size profile. This example presents in Excellent to Like New condition, retaining about 99% of its original blued, color case hardened, and gold-accented finish. The color case remains vivid, the bore is bright with sharp rifling, the screw heads are sharp, the markings are clear, and the smooth walnut grip is excellent with no chips or cracks.
Adding significantly to its collector appeal, this revolver comes with its display box and accessories, including the flask, tools, bullet mold, and cap tin. While this is not an original Civil War production 1860 Army, it is a handsome Colt-produced 3rd Generation commemorative black powder revolver that would make an excellent addition to a Colt, cavalry, Civil War commemorative, or black powder collection. Given its high condition, complete accessory set, and classic Colt styling, this revolver is best suited for the collector and would display very well as a centerpiece presentation piece.
