Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked "32 WCF". The top of the barrel bears some of the Colt factory address. The left side of the frame has the standard Colt patent dates and Rampant Colt logo. Matching serial numbers are visible on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap ("306540").

Barrel Length: 4 ¾”

Sights / Optics: The revolver features a fixed blade front sight and a grooved rear sight integral to the top strap.

Stock Configuration & Condition / Grip: The grips are two-piece smooth walnut. The grips show moderate handling wear with light smoothing, though there are no major chips or cracks. Some custom carving has been added to the panels. Overall, the grips rate in Very Good condition.

Type of Finish: Blued (Reblued)

Finish Originality: Professionally Refinished

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains approximately 95% of its professionally refinished blued finish. There are scattered minor handling marks and faint thinning at the muzzle, cylinder edges, and high points, consistent with careful handling since refinishing. The screwheads show minor tool marks but remain serviceable. Most of the markings remain clear and fully legible. Overall, this revolver is in Very Good–Fine condition as refinished.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. Cylinder lock-up is solid, timing is proper, and the trigger pull is crisp. We did not fire this revolver. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Manufactured in 1908, this Colt Single Action Army revolver chambered in .32 WCF (.32-20) combines historical allure with excellent shootability. Popular in the early 20th century, the .32-20 cartridge provided an ideal balance of manageable recoil, accuracy, and sufficient stopping power for small to medium game and ranch duty.

Having been professionally refinished to restore its original beauty, this revolver retains approximately 95% of its newer blue finish, presenting very nicely while maintaining some crisp markings and sharp rifling. This refinished Colt would appeal equally to collectors who value historic pieces with appealing aesthetics and to shooters who appreciate vintage firearms capable of continued practical use.
