Sights/Optics: The front sight is a hooded post atop a serrated ramp screwed into the barrel band. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation square-notch dovetailed into the barrel. The receiver is grooved for an optic, though none is present.

Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is two piece wood with a smooth straight wrist grip, straight comb, smooth forend, and a serrated synthetic buttplate. The buttplate has only faint handling wear. The furniture has some pressure dings and surface scratches. There are no chips or cracks. There is a little play between the stock and receiver. The LOP measures 13.75" from the face of the trigger to the butt. The furniture rates in Very Good condition.

Type of Finish: Blued with a hydro dipped receiver

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp with light fouling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This firearm retains about 95% of its original metal finish. The finish shows light operational wear and spots of oxidation on the barrel and magazine tube. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this firearm rates in Very Good Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Chiappa Firearms LA322 Takedown was manufactured in 2014 and is a modern lever-action rimfire rifle inspired by the classic Winchester Model 1892 design. Produced by Chiappa Firearms, the LA322 combines traditional lever-action styling with modern manufacturing and the convenience of a takedown system, allowing the rifle to be quickly separated for transport and storage.

Chambered in .22 Long Rifle with an 18.5 inch barrel and a 15-round tubular magazine, this rifle is well suited for plinking, small game hunting, and recreational shooting. The takedown feature makes it especially convenient for backpacking, camping, or compact storage. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9.5 out of 10, indicating excellent internal condition with strong rifling. The action functions correctly.

The furniture rates in Very Good condition with light handling wear and attractive presentation. This firearm retains approximately 95% of its original metal finish, presenting a fairly clean overall appearance despite the oxidation spots.
