Markings: The bottom of the barrel is marked "Cal 36 Black Powder Only-A. Uberti Italy". The serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel assembly and frame. The top of the barrel is marked "005 of 100, America Remembers". The barrel, frame, hammer, loading lever, and cylinder have foliate scroll machine engraving with dogshead motif. The cylinder has a roll-marked naval scene.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is missing. The rear sight is a v-notch in the hammer and is visible when cocked.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is one piece checkered faux ivory. There is minor tool marking and handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall this grip is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 98% of its current metal finish. There is light handling wear. There is light corrosion on the forward part of the barrel. The silver is lightly tarnished and darkened. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall this revolver is in Very Good condition and would rate higher but for the missing front sight.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this revolver. As with all used guns a full cleaning may be required to meet your standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a wood Colt display case, two powder flasks, cap tins, bullet mold, tool, and a white cardboard foam lined box with hand-written matching information.
Our Assessment: The Uberti Colt 1861 Navy "America Remembers" is a commemorative interpretation of one of the most refined percussion revolvers of the Civil War era, produced in a limited run and enhanced with extensive engraving. This same revolver has been previously sold as the "Tears of Gettysburg" commemorative, a reference to the first Civil War commemorative ever made. During the Civil War, Colt's Master Engraver Gustave Young did some of his finest work on an original 1861 Navy. In keeping with his style, the original "Tears of Gettysburg" had German scroll engraving incorporating animal heads, each with a small tear falling from its eye. While we were not able to find much about the America Remembers edition, this modern example takes notes from that design with decorative engraving across the barrel, frame, and cylinder, animal head motifs, along with "005 of 100" marking on the barrel, emphasizing its limited production and presentation-oriented intent.
Chambered in .36 caliber black powder, this revolver follows the traditional six-shot percussion configuration with a 7 1/2" barrel, offering a balanced feel and extended sight radius consistent with the original pattern. The open-top Colt design and simple hammer-notch rear sight remain faithful to period function, though the front sight is missing. The combination of blued, case-colored, and silvered components, along with engraved surfaces and checkered faux ivory grips, gives the revolver a distinctive and visually rich appearance compared to standard production models.
This example presents in Very Good condition and has been equipped with a Colt presentation case and a series of black powder accessories. The silver finish shows light tarnish and darkening, while the machine engraving remains well defined. The faux ivory grip is in excellent condition with minimal wear and no structural concerns, and the bore is bright with sharp rifling. The action functions correctly with good timing and tight lockup. This revolver presents a visually striking commemorative piece with minor condition considerations.
