Sights / Optics: There is a silver-colored bead at the front of the rib. The top of the rib has checkering for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with beavertail forend, pistol grip, straight comb, and textured black plastic Browning buttplate. The stocks have only a few light marks, most notable on the bottom of the grip. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 1/4" from the front of the trigger to the back of the plate. Drop at comb is approximately 1 5/8", drop at heel 2 3/4". The plate has only a few minor marks. Overall, the stocks are in Fine-plus condition.
Type of Finish: Blue & Coin
Finish Originality: Original, numbers match.
Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate 10/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The barrels have very minor wear from the forend, concealed when assembled. The action shows faint operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a Browning luggage case with a Galco leather slip-on pad, snap caps, Browning Lube Shot and keys for the case.
Our Assessment: The Browning Side by Side or B-S/S is famous for reliability and longevity. They are almost impossible to wear out. This example was manufactured in 1983 and shows little if any sign of use since it was originally purchased. It is a Grade II, featuring a coin-finished receiver with engravings of a duck, pheasant, quail, and hunting dogs. The gun has a single non-selective trigger, balances just ahead of the barrel hinge and points well with its 26" barrels choked Modified and Improved Cylinder. This would make a great field gun for the larger upland birds and a great cowboy action shooting side by side, if you were willing to subject this beautiful shotgun to such hard use.
