Markings: Left side upper barrel: "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY St LOUIS Mo. & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN BELGIUM". Right side barrel: "SPECIAL STEEL-12GA.-SHELLS 2 3/4" / PATENTS NO 2.203.378-2.233.86". Take down level for the non removable forend "14284S" and "T7". Locking tab "14284S3". The left side of the Monoblock: "PO 14284 S3 FN" and "*" for the top barrel and "**" for the bottom barrel. The ejectors: "O" and "U". Upper Tang: "14284 S3". Safety selector: "S U O".
Each tube in the super tube set is marked "6736 S72" the over barrel tubes are marked "O" and the under barrel tubes are marked "U". The ejectors are marked for each gauge 20, 28, and 410 and "O", "U".
Barrel Length: 26.5"
Choke: The barrels are marked Fixed FULL over MODIFIED however according to our choke gauge they are Skeet over Skeet. The tubes in the tube set also measure out to Skeet. We believe this modification was done when the tubes were fitted to the gun.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a large white bead with a smaller white mid bead. The top of the rib is finely checkered.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The high grade wood furniture is a two-piece checkered walnut set. The stock has a checkered prince of wales grip, fluted straight comb, with a brown rubber vented butt pad. The forend is a round profile non removable style forend. The LOP measures 14.25" from the trigger to the rear of the butt pad. The cast is very slightly right hand, the drop at comb is 1.5" and the drop at heel is 2.5". The wood shows handling with hairline scratches, compressions and a few small nicks scattered throughout. There are no cracks. There are some small chips in the edges of the gloss finish next to the upper tang and one on the lower. The butt pad shows minimal wear and is still very pliable. Overall the furniture set is in Fine condition.

Finish Originality: Original.
Bore Condition: The smooth bores are very bright with no erosion. There are some lines from use and minimal visible plastic fouling in the forcing cones. In this writer's opinion the bores rate 9.5/10. The tubes are mirror bright with almost no visible lines and barely visible plastic fouling rating 10/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The barrels show some minor scattered marks, minor thinning at the muzzles and of course the characteristic rub mark from the forend. The receiver shows some minor discoloration from age. The markings are clear and the screw heads are sharp. Overall the shotgun is in Fine+ condition.
Mechanics: The action, safety, and ejectors function correctly. There is zero movement between the barrels and receiver. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This 1963 Browning Superposed Pointer Grade shotgun in 12 gauge is a rare and exquisitely crafted example of FN's finest work for Browning, made even more exceptional by its factory customization to accept the full Browning Supertube system. The 26.5" barrels have been professionally fitted to accommodate the 20 gauge, 28 gauge, and .410 bore tubes, each complete with their matching extractors and all choked for skeet. These factory-fitted Supertube sets were an uncommon and highly sought-after option for competitive shooters who valued the ability to shoot multiple sub-gauges with one firearm. Few Pointer Grades were adapted for this system, making this particular gun exceptionally rare and desirable.
As a Pointer Grade, the receiver features meticulously detailed engraving of a pointer with a pheasant on one side and one with a duck on the other, done by Browning Master Engraver Watrin. Notably, Andre Watrin and his wife Nelly were both engravers for Browning, and their work graces many of the finest Superposed shotguns ever produced. The high-grade walnut stock features a hand-checkered prince of Wales grip and a round forend with elegant lines and superb finish. In Fine+ condition, this Pointer Grade exemplifies the peak of form, function, and artistry, a true treasure for collectors and skeet enthusiasts alike.
