Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN BELGIUM” and includes a Belgian proof on the shank. The left side of the receiver bears a “Lion over PV” proof. The right side of the receiver and barrel shank are marked “62220 L71”. The right side of the barrel is marked “CALIBER .375 H&H MAG ONLY”. The underside of the bolt handle is marked “62220” and the top bears a Belgian “Lion over PV” proof. The magazine floorplate and trigger guard feature tasteful factory engraving.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade dovetailed into a serrated ramp base on the barrel. The rear sight is a “U”-notched folding leaf, adjustable for elevation and drift-adjustable for windage. The receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled for scope mounts.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut with a Monte Carlo comb, cheekpiece, pistol grip, sling swivel studs, and a vented reddish-brown rubber recoil pad marked “Browning”. The finish exhibits light crazing throughout, along with a few scattered handling marks and minor nicks. Checkering remains sharp. The length of pull (LOP) measures 13 5/8” to the recoil pad and 12 1/2” to the wood. The recoil pad remains pliable, showing light wear. Overall, the stock rates in Fine-Plus condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, and rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains approximately 97% of its original metal finish. The barrel displays a few minor scattered freckles of oxidation, most notably on the shank and near the muzzle. The bottom metal shows minor handling marks, and the bolt exhibits minor operational wear. Screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool-marked with strong slots. Markings remain crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine to Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly and smoothly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is the rifle's original serial-matching black Browning box. The box displays scattered finish loss, creases, frayed edges, and draglines, rating in Good-Plus condition overall.
