Grip/Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered walnut with a beavertail forearm, semi pistol grip, straight comb, and a textured black plastic Browning buttplate. The furniture shows only a few minor pressure dings and drag lines. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14.25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The drop at comb is about 1.75" and the drop at the heel is about 2.75". The buttplate has some stubborn residue in its texturing and a chip taken from the toe. Overall, the furniture rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright with no visible streaking. There is no erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion, the bores rate 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are no notable blemishes other than a faint scratch or two. The action shows little operational wear. The screw heads are unmarred and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this shotgun is in Fine Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrels lock to the receiver with no play. The safety engages automatically when the barrel set is opened. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Browning Miroku B-S/S was manufactured in 1972 and qualifies as a Curio and Relic firearm. Produced by Miroku for Browning, the BSS was introduced as a premium side-by-side shotgun that combined classic styling with modern manufacturing techniques. Built to exceptionally high standards, the BSS quickly earned a reputation for outstanding fit, finish, and durability, becoming one of the finest production side-by-side shotguns of the late 20th century. Early examples such as this are especially desirable among collectors and sportsmen.

Chambered for 12 Gauge with 26 inch barrels, this shotgun features a versatile field choke combination with the left barrel choked Modified and the right barrel choked Improved Cylinder. This configuration is ideal for upland bird hunting, sporting clays, and general field use. In this writer's opinion, the bores rate a perfect 10 out of 10, indicating exceptional internal condition. The action functions correctly.
