Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch integral to the topstrap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered black hard rubber with rampant colt in oval at their tops and American Eagle at their bottoms. The grips have only a few scattered minor marks. The checkering is well defined with good detail in the colts and eagles. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Fine-plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, just a little stubborn fouling. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 95% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at some edges. There are a few light nicks, scuffs and small scratches, most notable near the front of the ejector housing and at the top of the backstrap. There are infrequent spots of minor oxidation. The action shows operational wear including turn wear on the cylinders, more notable on the .22 LR cylinder. Despite correct timing, each cylinder has firing pin strikes on their rear face. Oddly, the .22 Magnum cylinder's firing pin strikes are in-line with the rim while the .22 LR strikes are all in the raised portion outside of where the rim would sit. The screw heads are tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a two-piece Colt box with serial-matching label, the additional cylinder in its own little box, "Handling the Handgun" pamphlet and a Colt Archives letter. The letter indicates this revolver was produced in its current configuration (recorded as 4.75", a common mis-entry for 4.4" barrels) and shipped December 21, 1971 to a Bill Jackson in St. Petersburg, FL as one of two guns of the same type in the shipment.
Our Assessment: Colt introduced the Peacemaker .22 in the early 1970s as a high-quality rimfire understudy to the centerfire Single Action Army, offering shooters the same classic lines, handling characteristics, and four-click lockwork of the famed Peacemaker but in an affordable, low-recoil .22 LR platform. Built with Colt's traditional attention to fit and finish, these revolvers quickly earned a reputation for accuracy, durability, and their uncanny resemblance to the centerfire SAA, right down to the case-colored frame and deeply blued barrel and cylinder.
This 1972 example is in good shape, retaining the great majority of its original finish, a strong bore and good mechanics. The hard rubber eagle-and-rampant Colt grips show only light handling wear, complementing the revolver’s clean overall appearance. As both a collectible early-production rimfire Colt and an enjoyable field or range companion, the Peacemaker .22 has long been prized by enthusiasts of traditional single-actions.
