Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered rosewood with faux-pearl at their bottoms and inlaid gold-colored rampant colts. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 10/10
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. The action shows very minor operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a blue plastic Colt case with serial-matching label, one 7-round stainless Colt magazine, factory paperwork including manual and "stop-sign" hang-tag, and a set of plain grip-screws.
Our Assessment: The 1911 is one of the best pistols ever designed, seeing use in the US Military for the better part of a century and dominating pistol shooting sports for decades. The model has been produced in a dizzying array of configurations with different sights, grips, small parts, and finishes. It has also been used as the canvas for some of the most beautiful engraving in the world. This example is from Altamont's Regal series, featuring custom rosewood and faux-ivory grips, stainless steel construction, and Merlin Enright designed deep relief engraving. The engraving is found not only on the slide and frame, but on the thumb-safety and slide stop. Even the grip screws are subtly engraved with Colt's serpent logo. The pistol is in Excellent condition with little sign of use. It comes ready to hit the range or display in a Colt collection as one of only 300 produced for Altamont.
