Vintage S. C. Gallup Saddle Co. Fringed Leather Shotgun Chaps. Measurements are 36'to 42" waist, 34" down the outside of the leg, 22" down the inside of the leg, and 24" around the thigh. These chaps are free from any rips or tears. Samuel Caldwell Gallup founded the S.C. Gallup Saddle Company in Pueblo, Colorado, around 1869-1870, and was a pivotal part of Pueblo's era as the "saddle-making capital," known for its durable "Pueblo Style" saddles for working cowboys, with branches in Dodge City and Durango and a successful partnership with R.T. Frazier before Gallup's death in 1904, after which his firm continued until closing in the early 1920s. This excellent set of chaps would be a wonderful addition to the western wear collector.
