Good Condition. Missing the hinges from the back body/top lid, allowing the top lid to be lifted up entirely. Some sizable pieces missing from the top left hand and bottom right hand corners of the top lid. Moderate fading to the stenciled Winchester markings on the right hand side end. Numerous scattered nail holes in the top lid and body. Measures 27 1/4” x 14 3/4” x 9 5/8”. Features “10 / WINCHESTER / SPORTING RIFLES / MODEL 1906 / TAKE DOWN / 22 SHORT LONG, OR LONG RIFLE” stenciled in black at each side end. Carries “FROM / WYETH H.&M. CO. / ST. JOSEPH MO” and “HR HERRING / PARRIS MO” stenciled in black on the top lid. Wyeth Hardware & Machine Company was one of the Midwest's largest distributors of hardware, sporting and leather goods, and Winchester firearms in the early 1900s. An incredible piece for a Winchester collector.
