Sights / Optics: The front sight is a quarter-round blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a "V"-notch integral to the topstrap.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is one-piece smooth wood. The grip has a light scratch on the left, a few light nicks on the bottom, and a few other more minor marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grip is in Very Good-plus condition.

Type of Finish: Blue & Case Color

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright with sharp rifling. There are infrequent spots of minor erosion and some stubborn copper fouling in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates about 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are a few nicks on the front sight. There is minor wear on the bottom of the barrel from the base-pin during disassembly/reassembly. The action shows light operational wear including turn-wear on the cylinder. There are a few other minor marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Very Good-Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: For a few years in the late 1990s-early 2000s, American Western Arms marketed Colt clones made in Italy by Armi San Marco. Unfortunately, their design was a little too close, specifically having a near-copy of Colt's iconic American Eagle grips as well as using the model designation "Peacekeeper". Between legal wranglings with Colt and the closure of Armi San Marco in Italy, American Western Arms also closed down. This is one of their Longhorn model revolvers, a fairly faithful clone of Colt's Single Action Army. It is chambered for .45 Colt with a 5 1/2" barrel and retains much of its original finish. With a strong bore and good mechanics, this ought to make for a fun shooter. Please see our photos and good luck!
